Same-Sex Lifestyles Symposium
History
Following the national backlash to Colorado College President Worner's decision to deny the charter to the Gay Liberation Front of Colorado Springs, despite the approval of the charter by the student government, students at the college organized the "Symposium on Human Relations: Same Sex Life Styles."
The symposium included two showings of the ABC movie, That Certain Summer, on Monday December 11th in Armstrong Hall, followed by a panel discussion. On Tuesday, December 12th, Jack Baker and Barbara Gittings gave talks titled "In Defense of Gay Liberation and the Lesbian Movement." On Wednesday, there was a panel discussion with Jack Baker, Barbara Gittings, and Dr. Friedman.
