The Queer History Archive of Colorado Springs
This is a research project meant to document the corners of Colorado Springs LGBTQIA2+ history and culture across time, place, and connections. My hope is that through this research, the impacts and contributions of different people, organizations, events, and places are not lost to time. It also serves as a reminder that queer people have always been here.
This research is primarily conducted through archived newspapers through the Pikes Peak Library District, Colorado Springs LGBTQIA2+ Oral History Project episodes, and community input.
Join the Lambda History Committee!
The archive is assembling a team of dedicated researchers to help stitch together the tapestry of our local history. The hope is that we will have our first meeting in late April or early May, 2026. The committee will meet bi-weekly and the meetings will have a hybrid virtual option. You can join the committee by filling out this interest form, and you can learn more here.
